Ladygin was born in Moscow, December 26, 1962

In 1985, he graduated from Moscow Aviation Institute and was employed by Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics and participated in the BURAN program.

In autumn 1988, Ladygin detected the Cascade virus. As a solution, he wrote an antivirus program called Virus_D1. For a while Ladygin continued to enhance the program's detection ability. The nineth virus was when he thought, "Enough is enough." Autumn 1991 brought an idea how to create a universal cure for both known and unknown viruses. By the end of 1992, Ladygin together with Denis Zuyev, translated this idea into a finished product. This program, called ADinf Cure Module, has been distributed by DialogueScience since 1993.

Ladygin is married. He has two children.
