In the regular comparative testing run by the editorial staff of Virus Bulletin, the leading
international magazine on antivirus security, Doctor Web won one more
VB100% award, the seventh one in its career. This time antivirus program
versions for Windows NT Server were tested.We would like to remind that VB100% award can be won by an antivirus program if both scanner and resident guard detect 100% of viruses of the "ItW" (In the Wild) test set, i.e. viruses that can appear in real computer world. (A note for those who might be questioning themselves what other kind of viruses exist: there are also viruses stored only in antivirus experts' collections which do not occur "in the wild"). We also would like to attract your attention to the stability of the high detection rates Doctor Web has been showing during the latest "season". To illustrate this we will turn to the very interesting table supported at the Virus Bulletin WWW-site (direct link: http://www.virusbtn.com/100/vb100sum.html). It is quite sophisticated so we will explain how it is organised.
Companies and their products are sorted out according to the number of VB100% awards won in the 6 latest testing - when they were at all awarded. That's why Doctor Web "got nothing" in the July testing this year, when it showed brilliant results - 100% in all the categories. But for the July testing only scanners for DOS (without guards) were introduced, and in this case, according to the new Virus Bulletin rules, the products are not awarded :(.
The additional principle of organisation of the table is that the latest awards "outweigh". And that's why Doctor Web is in the 6th place, below the Norman Virus Control line, although both products have the same number of awards. Well… we have not finished yet :).

The table has been shortened. Only products with nonzero final results are adduced. Besides, our table, unlike the original one, does not differentiate whether the product was not introduced for testing or did not show 100 percent result.
