Initially this license was granted in 1998 and since that time is prolonged annually. During all this period tens of thousands of Russian educational institutions kept using our antivirus software.
DialogueScience is doing its best to develop the civilized software market in our country. Free license allows millions of young people, students of the state educational institutions, to use legitimate licensed software during their studies; it's only too often that those educational institutions lack necessary funds to purchase this software themselves. Apart from providing a reliable protection against viruses and Trojan programs our software helps students to form a civilized attitude towards the intellectual property.
"The Russian Ministry of Education expresses its gratitude to you for providing free licenses to use DialogueScience antivirus programs for the past three years. This had a definite positive impact on the speed and results of information technologies' introduction in the system of education. It is especially important in view of the new Russian Ministry of Education' program concerning the rural schools informatization and creation of the unified educational environment" - noted Mr. A.A. Polyakov, the Chief of the Information Technologies Department.
To quote the official letter, sent to the directors of the Regional Centres for New Information Technologies, implemented on the bases of large universities:
"On June 22, 2001 the DialogueScience, Inc. prolonged for one more year the licenses for its antivirus programs to be used at the educational institutions of Russia. Please make sure the antivirus software packages are properly distributed among the state educational institutions under the Russian Ministry of Education. The programs are to be made available on the Ministry's server at the address www.informika.ru as well as be distributed via the Regional Centres for New Information Technologies". Signed by Mr. A.A. Polyakov, the Department Chief.
Therefore our antivirus Project is in no way a mere formality; this Project is based on the real and working regional distribution mechanism within the framework of the Ministry of Education. The actual starting distributor is the State Institute of Information Technologies and Telecommunications (SIIT&T) "Informika" and its Web-server http://www.informika.ru. We thank everybody for their kind cooperation and hope for its further successful development.
