Doctor Web wins the Virus Bulletin 100% award in January tests

In January 2000, Virus Bulletin, a respected international magazine on antivirus security (published in the UK), tested antivirus scanners offered by antivirus developers from all over the world. The magazine runs such comparative reviews bimonthly. The recent review dealt with antivirus scanners for DOS.

In latest tests, Doctor Web for DOS/386 earned the prestigious "Virus Bulletin 100%" award. Our scanner received this prize for achieving 100% detection against the "In the Wild" test-set, i.e. viruses that can be found in the real computer world.

Since all members of the 32-bit Doctor Web family use the same kernel and virus base, users of Doctor Web for other platforms (Windows 9x/NT, OS/2 and Novell NetWare) have the same level of protection.

So far, VB 100% was given to the scanner's version for Windows only (please see details of October 28, 1999 and of April 29, 1999.)

It should also be noted that Doctor Web was able to detect 100% of polymorphic infectors. In polymorphic tests, this result has become traditional for Doctor Web. The full results will be published in the February issue of Virus Bulletin.
