"Doctor Web for Windows 95/98/NT" - the first commercial version released
After thorough testing the developing group with their group leader Igor
Daniloff issued the first commercial DrWeb32 family programs version. The
programs are delivered commercially since May 25, 1999. In particular,
the following antivirus programs released:
- Doctor Web for Windows 95/98/NT (window interface and command line interface);
- Doctor Web for DOS/386 (command line interface);
- Doctor Web for OS/2 (command line interface) and
- resident monitor SpIDer Guard for Windows 95/98.
First versions available for thorough beta-testing appeared almost a year
ago - on July 06, 1998. In all during the period of fixing and debugging
DrWeb32 programs there were 6 versions released. Two of them participated
in the international test run by Virus Bulletin magazine along with
full commercial versions provided by the world leading antivirus firms.
And both times DrWeb32 showed excellent results and was specially
mentioned by the editors of the magazine. (We wrote about it in our
press-releases # 23 dated September 3, 1998 and # 32 dated April 29,

Doctor Web for Windows 95/98/NT was awarded the prestigious "Virus
Bulletin 100%" award for 100% detection rate in "In the Wild" category
i.e. viruses that can be found in the real computer world from Virus
Bulletin's collection by the time of testing.
On the whole we may say that the released commercial versions of DrWeb32
family programs have united safety of the well-known antivirus scanner
Doctor Web, 32 bit applications working rate, convenience in antivirus
protection for a personal computer organising and possibility of choosing
an acceptable variant in terms of price for any individual or corporate
