Last version of Aidstest was released last year in September. But since then we included it in the antivirus set because then not all the viruses familiar to Aidstest were copied into the virus database of the new generation antivirus program, Doctor Web. Anyway, it regarded only "dead" viruses, settled in collections.
Recently this knowledge "handover" from Aidstest to Doctor Web eventually took place. It means that now Aidstest with the sense of the fulfilled duty may honourably retire. The matter it has been truly serving for 10 years is now in safe keeping. The "baton" has been passed to Doctor Web, Igor Daniloff's program and to the other programs of DialogueScience's antivirus set. Hey keep "Guarding your computers' health and safety".®
Dmitry Lozinsky himself is still in line. He joined Doctor Web developers. From the version 4.0 program's outside virus base is based on a new virus recording and processing algorithm developed by I. Daniloff and D. Lozinsky. Such an algorithm made it possible to automate analysis of newly incoming viruses and thus to enlarge the base of the viruses familiar to the program. Moreover, the virus database is now common both for the old, 16-bit program version and for all new 32-bit versions for Windows 95/98/NT, DOS/386, OS/2, Novell NetWare and other platforms.
It is generally recognised that macroviruses are the greatest troublemakers in computer world. E-mail users get infected with viruses from the files attached to the letters. Under the guidance of D. Lozinsky was developed DSAVmail program gets incorporated into the electronic mail system and checks the delivered letters for viruses instantly.
Besides that purely programmer's work, D. Lozinsky, being chairman of board of directors of DialogueScience, Inc administers also organisational work connected with perspective projects.
Judging from attention paid to the matters of antivirus and, generally, information security all over the world, it is clear that there is much work to be done ahead.
