DialogueScience provided the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation with a free licence for their antivirus programs

DialogueScience granted a free general licence to use their antivirus programs - - on all the computers within the state educational organisations of the Ministry of Public and Professional Education of the Russian Federation.

A. Ivannikov, director of Computerising Center of the Ministry of Education (left) is accepting the licence from Y. Lyashchenko, the first deputy director general of DialogueScience, Inc (centre) in presence of the Ministry of Education representative, I. Smolnikova, the leading specialist of the R&D dept. Computerising deparment. .
On June 24 of this year the licence was delivered to A. Ivannikov, director of Computerising Center of the Ministry of Education.

About the aims of the charity action S. Antimonov, director general of DialogueScience, Inc said in his speech at the IX international conference "Applying new technologies in education" in the city of Troitsk (Moscow reg.) on July 1-2, 1998 arranged by Bitic New Technologies in Education fund.

  1. Provide computers used within educational organisations with antivirus defence. Decrease the damage (including financial losses) caused by possible waste of data and program infected by computer virus attacks.

Mass and intensive data and program exchange between pupils (on floppy discs, CDs, through the Internet) makes it easy for viruses to spread widely beyond educational organisations. Many epidemics of computer viruses started in schools and institutes. Using antivirus programs in educational organisations will help to limit computer virus spreading in the country.

  2. Decrease the number of viruses created by high-school children and students of the first years (a well-known "childish disease" of beginners in programming).

  3. Involve schoolchildren and students in creative activity of writing some useful for society programs and not in that of developing destructive viruses.

And there are examples to follow. Scanner Doctor Web repeatedly showed the highest results in the comparative tests held in 1996-1998 by Virus Bulletin, a respected international magazine. ADinf is the only inspector in the world using BIOS (not MS-DOS) functions for reading information from the discs - this very characteristic made it first-place-winning in the category of inspectors both by its speed and the level of virus detection (any types of viruses, including stealth viruses). As for universal curing program ADinf Cure Module, it is a unique antivirus program having no match in the whole world. The virus' "face" being unknown, the cure module (used together with ADinf inspector) removes the virus from the infected file in 97% of cases and restores the initial file before the infection exactly "byte-to-byte".

  4. Show the inexperienced computer users all the merits and advantages of using authorised computer program versions: complete delivering of all the files (including documentation and methodical materials); periodical and timely version updating; easy and fast consulting and technical support etc. Having finished school or graduated from a university such a user will be conceptually prepared to use program products effectively under the conditions of a civilised market.

  5. In terms of the whole country increase the level of antivirus defence against new computer virus attacks - "shut" newly emerged virus epidemics quickly and effectively.

When fighting against viral epidemics it is important to react swiftly on every new challenge of the kind - to develop and supply an antidote against a new virus both where it was detected and where the virus can get after a time ("vaccination"). In terms of such a timely detection of new viruses (both a "home-developed" one and a foreigner) a computer net established within the Ministry of Education and covering a great part of the country territory may help significantly. Passing such infected files immediately to DialogueScience will enable it to react adequately - develop and deliver urgently to all the authorised antivirus program users some means to struggle against a new virus.
