The product consists of a daemon module (DrWebD) communicating with filters specially designed to check mail handled by such agents as Sendmail, QMail, Postfix, Communigate Pro, Zmailer, Courrer, Exim and Samba file server.

Besides the daemon module the product also includes a command-line anti-virus on-demand scanner which can be used to scan local, network amd removable drives for viruses out of the UNIX environment.

It uses the same virus definitions bases and therefore can be updated at any interval the network administrator might choose to catch up with the speed viruses are analyzed in Igor Daniloff Anti-virus Labs. With Dr.Web® there is no need to wait for a daily update helplessly answering your LAN users angry calls - once the threat is analyzed the remedy can be immediately accessed for downloads.

The reason of that choice - not just unquestionable anti-virus capabilities of the product but also the speed of mail traffic processing which sometimes becomes the priority criteria for internet professionals.
