Virus Scanner V-Hunter

V-Hunter screen Design Functionality. V-Hunter, known as Aidstest in Russia and ex-USSR republics, detects and eradicates file, boot, and combination viruses, which infect both files and the boot sector. V-Hunter recognizes a virus by its signature: for each virus, its database contains a specific byte string (signature), which aids the program to trap unmistakably a virus and the mechanism it uses to infect a file and/or boot sector. At present, V-Hunter can detect and kill over 1700 viruses that are widespread in Russia and ex-USSR republics. V-Hunter is not capable of detecting and removing polymorphic viruses and the viruses whose signature is not known to the designer. Such viruses can be eradicated by other component utilities in the DialogueScience Anti-Virus Kit DSAV. Operating system: MS DOS. Interface: command-line mode. Hardware: any PC running under MS DOS.
